Proper facial skin care is impossible without its regular, gentle and deep cleansing. And against the background of funds from cosmetic stores, folk recipes for scrubs rightly deserve attention, many of which are known, by the way, for centuries.

From what is at home, it’s easy to make scrubs suitable for the most varied features of the skin, which thanks to them will soon shine with grooming.

Any scrub is a cleanser, the consistency of a cream or gel with many insoluble (or almost no melting) solid "crumbs", mechanically exfoliating, cleansing the skin of dead skin particles.

The fact is that with the accumulation of dead cells in the epidermis, the metabolism slows down, the skin loses up to 75% of useful substances that could be absorbed from caring creams, masks and other things.

Finally, such a person simply looks groomed, listless, older than biological age.

The benefits of facial scrubs can, in general terms, be reduced to the following:

  • rejuvenation (and even smoothing out fine wrinkles);
  • deep cleansing (including removal of black dots);
  • acne prevention;
  • improved complexion;
  • normalization of the sebaceous glands;
  • perfection of the face;
  • improvement of local blood circulation;
  • smoothing scars and scars;
  • softening the skin.

And it would be nice not to confuse the scrub with peeling. The second tool does not act mechanically, but chemically and is used no more often 1-2 times a month.

However, many scrubs (for example, fruit scrubs) have some peeling properties (but they act more delicately).

The recommended frequency of use of scrubs depends on the type of skin:

  • normal and combined - once a week;
  • sensitive and dry - every 7-10 days;
  • oily and problematic - 2-3 times a week.

Before applying the scrub, you should at least wash yourself with warm water, and even better - wash yourself with a neutral agent (for example, daily gel) and steam out the skin.

The scrub should evenly cover the face, except for the lips and the area around the eyes.

It is supposed to apply a scrub in circular, light, massaging movements. In no case can you rub it strongly - it will not better cleanse the skin, but injure the epidermis and, provided such ineptitude in the long run, will provoke its wilting.

The duration of stay of the product on the face - from 3 to 10 minutes - part of the time is spent on application, the rest of the time, the components of the scrub simply affect the skin.

Then it is washed off with a lot of warm, less often - cool water.

After you can wet your face with a towel, or you can still wipe it with an ice cube from pure water or a herbal decoction - the so-called melt water has unique properties at the molecular level, rejuvenates, protects against oncology.

You can also apply a moisturizing, nourishing cream.

It is unacceptable to continue to hold a scrub on your face if it causes itching, burning.

In order to avoid such a reaction, it is reasonable to do an allergy test before using it - a drop of it is lubricated by the internal bend of the elbow and after half an hour there should be no irritation.

In order not to contaminate the skin, you should not go outside (or do dusty cleaning at home) for a couple of hours after scrub, and it’s better to wait 4-6 hours with makeup.

There are also contraindications for the use of scrubs:

  • open skin lesions, such as scratches, sores, acne
  • a number of skin diseases (specialist consultation is required, but usually they include acne and papillomas);
  • rosacea (vascular mesh on the face);
  • individual intolerance to the edible components of scrubs.
