Already in the last days of March, the Belgians will release brands that have a chocolate taste and smell. The postal service plans to produce five types of such stamps. Paper is capable of reacting to the heat of a person’s hand. And the “chocolate” taste and smell will be manifested in response to a person’s breathing and touch.

In an official statement, representatives of the Belgian postal service said that it was not easy to cope with the imitation of dark chocolate, so experts from Switzerland, the Netherlands and Germany were involved in the process.

The new series of postage stamps is a kind of PR move designed to show the whole world how important chocolate is for Belgians. Chocolate has been produced in the country since the 19th century. It was then that the Congo colony became the main supplier of cocoa for producers. Today, Belgian chocolate is valued extremely highly worldwide. The reason lies in the peculiar taste, which is noticeably different from Swiss milk and bitter French chocolate.

In addition to "chocolate" stamps, the Belgian Post wants to issue special stamps that glow in the dark. This is a kind of propaganda of traffic rules. Stamps can be glued to clothes, which will allow pedestrians to feel more confident on the road at night. A series of stamps dedicated to the centennial of the Belgian Meteorological Society will also be issued by the postal service. On these marks, when touched, a pattern will appear.
