Despite the fact that a number of experts have argued that chewing gum is a great way to combat obesity and overeating. However, this hypothesis is not shared by all scientists. Doctors are convinced that the method of drowning hunger using chewing gum is a fairly common myth. Studies have shown that when using chewing gum, unforeseen effects are possible.

Studies have shown that people who are overly fond of chewing gum do significant harm to themselves. People addicted to peppermint gum eventually consumed more food. In general, the results of the experiment showed that between people who used chewing gum and those who preferred not to do this, they consumed almost the same amount of food.

In particular, scientists have found that chewing gum is more likely to have a negative effect to reduce appetite. Due to the special cooling effect, which is stored in the mouth for a sufficiently long time, mint chewing gum gives unpleasant taste to consumed vegetables and fruits.
