Few people think that kvass is not just a tasty drink that can quickly quench your thirst. In addition, it is very useful due to the content of vitamins and minerals in the composition. Kvass is able to improve digestion, establish metabolic processes in the body and strengthen the nervous system. Also, the drink positively affects the condition of tooth enamel - it becomes stronger.

Regular consumption of kvass leads to the fact that the muscles begin to work better and less tired. During pregnancy (especially in the later stages) this is a very important point.

A bread drink can not only quickly quench thirst, but also increase the tone of the body, kill harmful bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract and normalize the microflora in the intestines.

Is kvass possible for pregnant women and what harm can it do?

The harm of kvass lies in its production, or rather, in the impurities that are added during the manufacturing process. Pregnant women are strictly forbidden to drink purchased kvass. It has almost no natural components, instead a long list of chemical components. They even carbonate the drink not by fermentation, but artificially. The benefits of such kvass will not be exact.

A drink may also be dangerous because of the yeast contained in its composition. For the same reason, women should not drink kvass with an increased tone of the uterus and the presence of a threat of miscarriage.

Despite the fact that many people consider this particular drink to be natural and healthy, it can do much more harm than a store. The fact is that no one can taps and tubes through which kvass is fed into a glass. It is unlikely that after wintering they are properly processed before they "go out" onto the streets of the city. During the time that they are idle, rust forms inside and microorganisms begin to develop.

No less dangerous are the bottles and cups into which kvass is poured on the street. How they were stored or washed, and where did this container come from, remains a mystery to the buyer. It is this that is fraught with serious danger, which can turn into food poisoning. During pregnancy, it is a dangerous miscarriage.

Is it possible for pregnant kvass and how to make a drink yourself

If you want kvass, and it’s scary to buy at the markets or in stores, then self-cooking is an excellent solution.

Kvass from rye crackers

You will need:

● 500 g rye crackers;

● 5 l of boiling water;

● 15 g of dry yeast;

● 100 g of sugar;

● 10 g mint.

Cooking:

Rye crackers (it is better to make them yourself, rather than taking purchased ones) are poured with boiling water.

The container is tightly closed by a lid and left to infuse for 4 hours.

When the brewing time comes to an end, the yeast is diluted in warm water until completely dissolved.

The liquid that has been infused is filtered.

Sugar, yeast and mint are added to it.

The drink is infused under the lid for another 12 hours.

Then the obtained kvass is bottled and infused in the refrigerator (or any other cool place) for at least two more days.

Only then can kvass be drunk.

Beet Kvass

This drink is very useful during pregnancy. It increases hemoglobin, quenches thirst and well cleanses the intestines from harmful bacteria. Beet kvass has all the properties of beets. It is especially useful for women who have a thyroid problem, namely iodine deficiency. It is found in large quantities in beets.

Iron in the composition of beets and a drink from it helps prevent fetal hypoxia.

You will need:

● 1 kg of beets;

● 2 l of pure water;

● 1 slice of brown bread;

● 20 g of sugar;

● a pinch of salt.

Cooking:

Beets are peeled, washed well and rubbed on a coarse grater.

Grated vegetable is folded into a large jar and filled with water.

Bread, sugar and salt are added there.

The jar is covered with gauze (not a lid, since kvass should “breathe” during the infusion process) and left in a warm place for 4 days.

After this, the beet kvass is filtered, bottled and ready for use.

For those pregnant who are afraid to drink yeast kvass, there is an option to prepare a drink without using this ingredient.

Yeast-Free Kvass

You will need:

● 2 slices of rye bread;

● 1.5 liters of boiled water;

● 0.5 l of sourdough;

● 1 tbsp Sahara.

for starter you will need:

● 2 glasses of water;

● half a slice of rye bread;

● 1 tsp Sahara.

Cooking:

First, the leaven is prepared.

To do this, in a small jar (suitable 0.5 l) are placed chopped rye bread, boiled water at room temperature and sugar.

The jar is covered with gauze and left to infuse for two days (yeast-free fermentation takes much longer).

When the leaven is ready (it has become cloudy and has a sharp taste), you can begin to prepare the drink.

In a 2-liter jar, the brewed ferment is poured and crushed bread, sugar and water are added.

The resulting mixture is infused under a tightly closed lid for at least a day.

After that, ⅔ jars are poured into a clean container, and pure boiled water is added to the remaining sourdough and a crushed piece of rye bread is laid.

Thus, with one sourdough, you can cook two servings of kvass.

Now all women know whether kvass is possible for pregnant women. In small quantities it is even useful, but on condition that the drink is prepared at home. It is better to refuse the purchase, since it is of no use, and it can cause serious harm to both the mother and the fetus. If the use of a homemade bread drink in a woman does not cause discomfort and discomfort in the intestines, then they can easily quench their thirst.
